During the late 1920's, a small group of God's people in the city of Fort Lauderdale, wanted to form their own church. With prayer, hard work and community spirit they built that church as a beacon of God's promise.
The building was located on Flagler railway line that stretched from New York to Key West. As the weather grew cold in the north, men (out of work because of the depression) would ride the rails, living in hobo camps and hoping for a better life. The tiny church set up a soup line to feed these men physically and spiritually.
Over the years, the Ft. Lauderdale church has spawned seven other churches (between Hollywood and Delray Beach) as well as a K-8 church school, Sawgrass Adventist School.
By 1985 the members recognized the need for a larger church building with better service facilities. Land was needed, but land in the city was very expensive, especially near the city's center. The Lord provided the PERFECT place. Centrally located, it provided ample space for a new worship center.
At our new location on Davie Boulevard, our church continues its tradition of being service oriented, as established by our founders. We strive to minister to the community, visitors and members alike; with concerts, health fairs, post-disaster supplies distribution, community food bank, family retreats, weekly Sabbath lunches for visitors, as well as mission trips. Certainly not least, we provide a place of worship for both young, old, and young at heart.
